Mathilde de Jenlis

Mathilde began studying the violin at the age of 5 at the Bernadette Janssen school in Belgium and then perfected her skills with Frédéric d'Ursel. In 2007, she was admitted to Philippe Koch's class at the Royal Conservatory of Liège as a "Young Talent" and at the same time finished her secondary studies with a maths-sciences option at the international school "Le Verseau".

In 2015, she obtained her master's degree with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Shirly Laub and the same year, a master's degree in event management at the IHECS with distinction.

 

In 2017, Mathilde obtained a Master's (MMus) degree in performance, specializing in Irish traditional music at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama of Dublin. 

​

She has participated in numerous workshops and masterclasses with renowned teachers such as Eliot Lawson, Ilya Grubert, Tatiana Samouil, Alexei Moshkov… 

​

Mathilde is a very active chamber musician : She frequently gives concerts in France, Belgium and Ireland (East-West International Chamber Music Festival, Corroy Music Festival, at the Wallonia Festival, at the musiq3 festival,… ), she performs notably in Spain, Norway and Benin.

​

Mathilde is the winner of the “Rovere d'Oro-Giovani Talenti” international competition in Italy. 

​

In 2011, she is concertmaster of the orchestra symphonique des jeunes de Bruxelles. In 2015 she was concertmaster of various orchestras in Ireland with which she toured New York and Toronto in 2017. 

​

Since 2014 Mathilde is a designer, coordinator  and member of the East-West Chamber Orchestra. 

​

Mathilde is a violin teacher at the Rixensart Academy since 2020.

​

Mathilde currently plays on an Egidius-Marcus Snoek violin from 1720.

​
